How To Make Money With CashCrate – A Quick Guide

So, you've heard about making money on CashCrate, but are wondering exactly how it works? This post provides a basic outline of how CashCrate works, and how you can use it to make a side income on the net.

There are three basic ways to make money online with CashCrate:

1. Filling Out Surveys and Offers

2. Referring Others To CashCrate As An Affiliate

3. Getting Cashback When You Shop

Let's take a look at each of these aspects of the CashCrate program in turn.

1. Filling Out CashCrate Surveys & Offers

This is the quickest way to get earning with CashCrate. After you sign up and log in to your account, you'll find a list of all the surveys and offers that are available to you, together with the amount of money you can make from each. Here's how it works – CashCrate brings together advertisers (or merchants) with the people (like you and me) who might be interested in their goods or services. If you sign up for an offer (or complete a survey etc) via the link on CashCrate's site, the advertiser pays CashCrate a commission – and CashCrate in turn pays some of that commission to you, as a reward for using their link.

There are various types of offers that you can sign up for:

  • Straight surveys – the advertisers are looking for information and opinions – you fill out the survey, and are paid a small sum for doing so. As well as periodic surveys from advertiser, there is a regular CashCrate daily survey, which pays $0.80 if you qualify – but this is available to US residents only.
  • Signing up for websites (free memberships) – the advertisers are looking for people to sign up for their websites, which are free to join. You sign up via CashCrate's link, and again, receive a small sum for doing so.
  • Signing up for free trial offers – the advertisers are offering a free trial of their product or service (sites like DVD rental services, dating sites etc often do this). You sign up for the free trial via CashCrate's link, and are paid, as before. IMPORTANT – you normally have to provide a credit card number when signing up for these offers. This is perfectly legit, and you won't be charged for the duration of the free trial, but you MUST remember to cancel your membership with the advertiser's site before the trial period is up, or you'll be charged.
  • Signing up for paid offers – there are also some offers where you pay a small amount upfront, such as for sites that charge a postage and packing fee to send you their trial product. These also obviously require your credit card details, and the terms of the offer are clearly described, so you won't sign up for one by mistake. These offers tend to pay the most.

All of these offers are above board, but many people aren't comfortable giving their credit card details. That's fine – you don't have to participate in the offers which need a card, and can make money on CashCrate just by doing the 100% free (no card details needed) offers, and the surveys. If you do decide to do the offers which ask for your card details (these are attractive because they usually pay you the most), just remember to cancel after your CashCrate earnings have tracked, so you won't be charged in the future.

Talking of tracking – after signing up for an offer or completing a survey, you'll only be paid if the transaction tracks properly, and has been validated by the advertiser. Until then, your CashCrate earnings will show as pending. Tracking problems are rare, and you shouldn't have any problems with validation so long as you've given correct information and aren't trying to defraud the advertiser by (for example) signing up for their offer at other sites like CashCrate too. In my experience, CashCrate pending earnings are validated within a few hours or a couple of days at most, and are then added to your account and are available for withdrawal (once you've reached the minimum payout amount of $20).

The offers and surveys that are available to you will depend on where you live – people in English-speaking countries get the most (especially in the US), but it's still worth joining even if you live elsewhere, as there may be some offers you can complete, and you can also make extra money with referrals.

2. The CashCrate Referral Program

The second way to make money with CashCrate is to refer others to the site, and you'll make a percentage of their earnings as commission, as well as a smaller percentage of the earnings of any people they refer. The exact percentage you make depends on how many people you've referred. So if you have a website or blog, this can be a great way to make some extra income with CashCrate. You can also add your special referral link to your email signature, forum posts etc.

CashCrate's referral system is a two-tier one, but it's not some dodgy MLM scheme, and you certainly don't have to refer anyone – you can still make a nice side income on CashCrate just from the offers alone, even if you never refer anyone else. You can read more about making money with CashCrate referrals here.

3. Get Paid To Shop – CashCrate Cashback Program

Lastly, CashCrate has a cashback program, which you can use if you shop online. This works very simply – CashCrate is an affiliate for a number of popular retailers, and if you want to buy anything from these sites, and you click through the link on CashCrate's site when you visit, CashCrate will get a commission on the cost of your purchase. This doesn't make any difference to the price you pay – it's just a reward to CashCrate for referring a sale to the merchant's site. And as with the offers discussed earlier, CashCrate will share the commission with you. So if you're going to be spending money online with these retailers anyway, you might as well go through CashCrate's link, and get a little bit back!

PLUS - you can make additional money and get some cool stuff (gift couchers, cameras, iPods etc) with the CashCrate contests, and by earning points which you can redeem at the CashCrate prizes shop. Read more about CashCrate contests, points and prizes here.

So, those are the three main ways you can make money with CashCrate. You won't make a fortune doing this, but if you use CashCrate regularly, it can add up to a nice little side income, which can be especially useful for people like students, stay at home parents, or anyone who wants to supplement their main income, or make some money online. Once you've reached the minimum payment threshold of $20, you'll get your first CashCrate payout by check, and if you use the site enough (and depending on where you live), you could be getting a check every month after that too. Although there are some dodgy survey sites and things like that online, CashCrate is a genuine company, and not a scam, so you can use it with confidence.
